Awake at 0600 but not up until 0740. Showered and dressed, then up for breakfast once Fran had finished. Had breakfast outside Horizons, chatted with a lady from Canberra (Griffith). Back to the cabin and dropped the GPS off and then went walking. Met and chatted to Tom (and Susan) from Minnesota – retired CPA. Chatted about Australia and the US, comparing things and facts.
Did seven laps and then back to the cabin and picked up the laptop and pad, and up to the lounge near Velma. Chatted briefly to her, then went into the lounge and typed up my diary. No mobile telephone signal. We were just south of Point Everard (Gabo Island) while having breakfast, travelling about 36 km/hr. Caught up with Pat, then went back to the cabin to get the adaptor for the laptop. Plugged that in, processed photos. Pat came along after, then Fran showed up. I showed Pat some photos of Australia on the laptop. Velma finished, then we all went up to Horizons for lunch. By 1300 Pat and Velma were off, and Fran and I did three laps (one mile, 1.6 km) of the promenade deck (7). We attended the “Who is it” quiz, then Fran went off for her facial and I walked back. Ran into Diane and granddaughter – gave her my card. Went into the lounge and did some computer work – checked email, but not anything else due to high charges. Chatted to Cliff from Sydney and showed some others St Nazaire, where I saw a cruise ship being built. Velma waved as she went past. Stayed there until 1745 when Fran said she wanted to get ready for dinner, but she wasn’t there. Velma came past at 1800 and said Fran was having her facial, that she won, done. I went back to the cabin, then found Fran heading off to dinner and Pat and Velma dressed up ready to go. I had dinner in Horizons and then went to the champagne waterfall. Velma introduced me to the captain and then I chatted with some other crew. Chatted with an ex-USAF pilot from Denver and then saw the Champagnefall. Took some pictures, then went back to the cabin, left everything and did three laps of the deck. After that I chatted with a lady on deck from Sydney (St Marys) and then eventually went back to the cabin and into bed. Off to sleep about 2230.
